The Protected Areas Database for the US is a collaborative effort between federal and state agencies and private conservation organizations to spatially document conservation lands and lands managed by federal, state, regional, local, and private entities, which includes private conservation easements. The science analysis used the CBI (Conservation Biology Institute) Edition Version 1.1 (2010).
