The National Association of State Foresters (NASF) is a non-profit organization comprised of the directors of forestry agencies in the states, territories and the District of Columbia of the United States. The NASF compiles fire occurrence summary data from all participating states. The data set of NASF fire occurrences was acquired from the National Fire and Aviation Management Web Applications (FAMWEB) Data Warehouse in February, 2013. This was one of the three databases used to compile a national dataset of fire incidents and area burned used in the science analysis of The National Cohesive Strategy
