This fire occurrence data product was developed by Karen Short (USFS), which contains a database of wildfires that occurred from 1992 to 2011. For the Science Analysis of the Cohesive Strategy, only data for 2002 to 2011 was used. This data product was one of the three databases used in the combined National data set of fire incidents and area burned used in The National Cohesive Strategy. The Federal portion of this data set was also used for Federal fire statistics and Federal fires of concern variables.
